In 1841 Census he was living at St Leonards with his wife Elizabeth, daughters Sarah & Mary, and his sister Mary. In 1851, a "chinaman" probably working in the local pottery industry, living at St Leonards with Elizabeth, daughter Sarah, and his father William Peerless. In 1861, a house agent, at 1 West Hill Rd, St Leonard's with his wife Charlotte and niece Fanny Peerless. Will proved at London 12.6.1873 described him as a gentleman; Charlotte, his widow, & William Edward Skinner, lodging house keeper of Hastings, executors.
